Xaquín Núñez Sabarís is an Associated Professor (Professor Associado) in the Department of Romance Studies of the Universidade do Minho, Portugal. He works on his research at the Center for Humanities Studies in that same university, as well as in the research group “Identidade(s) e Intermedialidade(s)”. He is also a member of the research group studying the works of Valle-Inclán at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. His research deals with contemporary Spanish (micro-)narrative, theatre and intermediality, as well as with the pedagogy of literature in a multilingual context.
Xaquín Núñez Sabarís has extensive publications on the relations between Spanish and Portuguese literatures and cultures, placing particular attention on Modernism and Luso-Galician relations. He co-edited the volume Diálogos Ibéricos sobre a Modernidade (2011) and several articles on the relation between Valle-Inclán in Portugal, such as “Valle-Inclán en la escena portuguesa” (2011) and “La recepción de Eça de Queiros en Valle-Inclán: las traducciones” (2011). Other publications include “Converxencias actuais entre o teatro galego e o portugués: Construíndo un teatro do aquí” (2014) or “A cabeça do Baptista (2010). El teatro de Valle-Inclán en Portugal, con la escena gallega como telón de fondo” (2017).
